Event information
The full programme for the first Cli-Met Workshop with Stakeholders is now available. From 28 to 30 September 2026, project partners, public authorities, researchers, practitioners and local stakeholders will meet in İzmir, Türkiye, for three days of exchange on climate action at the metropolitan scale.
Hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality at Tarihi Havagazı Fabrikası, the workshop will combine keynote sessions, international and local panels, thematic working groups and a field visit, creating opportunities to connect academic knowledge, metropolitan governance and local experience.

Thematic working groups
The second day of the workshop will be dedicated to parallel thematic working groups, giving participants the opportunity to exchange knowledge and develop shared perspectives around four dimensions of metropolitan climate action:
- Climate risks & spatial planning
- Water–Energy–Mobility adaptation
- Social vulnerability & community resilience
- Governance & institutional coordination
Participants will work within the same thematic groups throughout the day, before presenting the main outcomes of their discussions in a concluding session.
Field visit
On the third and final day, participants will visit the Kadifekale community garden, exploring a local experience that connects community-based urban agriculture, social engagement and neighbourhood-level climate resilience.
