Implementing the Climate Agenda
in Metropolitan Areas
Erasmus + Cooperation partnerships in higher education (KA-220)
CLI-MET is an Erasmus+ cooperation partnership dedicated to advancing climate resilience in European metropolitan regions. The project builds bridges between universities, metropolitan authorities, and international networks to co-create knowledge, share adaptation strategies, and develop innovative training programmes. Through education, stakeholder engagement, and cross-border collaboration, CLI-MET supports cities in addressing climate challenges such as heatwaves, flooding, land degradation, and ecological vulnerability.

What we do
CLI-MET works as a collaborative platform connecting academic research, metropolitan practice, and European policy exchange.
We create learning opportunities for students, researchers, practitioners, and public officers interested in metropolitan climate action
We bring universities and metropolitan authorities together, encouraging dialogue between academic knowledge and policy practice
We organise international training activities, combining lectures, seminars, field-based learning, and exchange among participants
We host stakeholder workshops, where climate strategies are discussed through concrete metropolitan experiences
We collect and share inspiring case studies from European metropolitan areas, highlighting policies, tools, and practices that support climate adaptation and mitigation
We develop open learning resources, including educational materials, digital content, the CLI-MET Handbook, and the Digital Academy
We share project stories, events, and results, making CLI-MET knowledge accessible to a wider community of learners, practitioners, institutions, and metropolitan stakeholders
